Well, we are ready to open and show off our new tasting room. We will be open on Friday the 6th and Saturday the 7th of April and continue being open on Friday and Saturday true out the Spring and Summer. Hours 1pm to 6pm. Come and check us out.
We are planning to have a release party to celebrate the new wines, and that will be in May. We are not sure of date but will post as soon as we know. We plan to have Richard Kittos of Ivy Wild prepare some heavy snacks to pair with the new wines. Should be FUN!!
Our bottling date has changed to April 17th (Tuesday). Again, feel free to stop by and watch all the fun, even pitch in and help!! It will be an exciting day for me!! Bottles, corks, labels, capsules, hoses, pumps, filters, power, and enough help to get it all done. Its going to be GREAT!!!! To top it of, my sister, my nephew, and brother are coming from California to pitch in. Also Maria will be back from wintering in Arizona and will be videoing the whole process. Hope to see you there!!
Also something I forgot to mention last month. This year we will be releasing a 2011 Chardonnay made from Ancient Lakes Grapes. It is a dry Chardonnay made in stainless steel without oak. Great fruity, fresh pear nose with a crisp finish. Should be a winner for an afternoon on the crushpad after a scenic helicopter ride with Maria. :)
I also would like to take a minute to talk about the 2011 Rosé. This years Rosé is a Saignée style, which means it was made from juice taken from red wines before they are fermented. In this case, 10% of the juice was removed from the red wine fermenters to increase the skin to juice ratio. We then mixed them together and fermented to almost dry. We ended up with a fairly dry (a little bit of residual sugar left), very clean, medium colored Saigne’e style Rosé. I think you will like it. Another patio wine!!
OK we are going to try it!!
Here is the deal. Level 1 wine club will receive 2 bottles twice a year and level 2 will receive 3 bottles twice a year. The wine will be shipped in June and November. Wine club members will receive a 20% discount on wine club wine and a 10% discount on wine purchased in the tasting room. Wine club members will also have an open invitation to be a part of our wine making process and feel free to watch or take part in the different processes in making our wines.
Watch for the Wine Club page on our website later this month.
All the best in life,
